Last month I’ve been really bad with listening to music . I literally played the same five or six songs over and over again; definitely not enough for a proper playlist. But I’ve listened to some podcasts, so I’m going to talk about those in this monthtly mixtape instead.
This one is for all the german speaking peeps out there. Fest & Flauschig is a pretty well known german podcast on Spotify hosted by Jan Böhmermann and Olli Schulz and they literally cover everything – mostly current events, politics, music and anecdotes with a lot of humour.
It was the first podcast I listened to and I absolutely love it. You don’t have to concentrate too hard while listening which makes it perfect for having it on in the background. And the intros are the best thing ever.
This one is a fairly new one for me; I discovered it like two or three weeks ago. If you couldn’t tell by the title, it’s a Game of Thrones themed podcast. They’re currently doing a rewatch from the perspective of someone who watched up to S7E7 and cover one episode of the series each week.
I haven’t listened to anything they did before the rewatch, mostly because it would just confuse me at this point.
So, if you need to fill that GoT-shaped hole in your life, definitely check it out.
This one’s a bit different. Lilsimsie is a gaming youtuber who – you guessed it – plays mostly the Sims 4. She posts a new video every day, does 2-4 hour long streams and also has a podcast. So, there is quite a lot of content to watch – or in my case listen to. This is again more on the just-background-noise side.
She’s currently the only gaming youtuber I watch and I like her so much because she’s really relatable and has a lot of really funny stories.
I don’t read as much as I’d like to and I never really read popular books (except Twilight, I did read it when it was popular), so most of the time I have no idea about the reviewed books. But I don’t care that much, because it’s – again – more background noise and I just really like listening to people and their opinions.
I love LilyCReads rant reviews, but my absolute fave is The Dom. I just really like the way he speaks and acts. My favourite videos of his are part of his “Lost in Adaptation”-series, where he compares books to their movie adaptations.
I’ve watched Esteés videos for a couple of years by now and I always loved her chatty ones the most. So, I was really excited when she announced that she was doing a podcast.
In The Heart of it she discusses topics that are important to her with a different guest each episode.
I have to say I haven’t got that far yet, but what drew me in immediately was the editing which is way more complex than in all the other podcasts I’ve listened to (which aren’t many to be fair, but you get the point).
What are your favorite podcasts (or background noises)? And what songs did you listen to the most last month? Let me know in the comments.
Love, Jacky N.
